Located in Morris County, Chatham Township is a New Jersey community of about 10,452 residents as of the 2010 Census.

First incorporated in 1806, this quaint community was formed with portions of Hanover and Morris townships.

Originally known as John Day’s Bridge, this New Jersey community was renamed Chatham in honor of Sir William Pitt, who was the first Earl of Chatham

Today, the 9.4-square-mile community is well known for its high quality of living. For instance, in 2005, Chatham Township was ranked the 9th best place to live in the state by New Jersey Monthly magazine.

Chatham Township shares its public education system with neighboring Chatham.

The School District of the Chathams includes several high-performing public schools, including Chatham High School.

The United States Department of Education presented this local school with the Blue Ribbon School Award of Excellence during the 2004-05 school year.

What’s more, the school was recognized as the 8th best school in the state by New Jersey Monthly magazine.

For those parents who prefer to give their children a private school education, there are also a number of renowned private schools in the area, such as Chatham Day School.
